Future Students' information events
We run a range of events to learn more about the University of Newcastle, including study options, how to apply, campus environment, plus lots more.
General information events
Open Days
Our Open Days are usually held in August of each year. The purpose of this event is to give prospective students the opportunity to visit our campus, view our facilities and talk to current students and staff about degrees and study options.
Info Sessions
Info Sessions are held in January each year. There are usually two Info Sessions, each with a slightly different focus. The first Info Session is for students who want to talk face-to-face with University staff about study options, get help changing preferences or help with applying. The second Info Session is usually held the day after main round offers are released. The focus of this event is for people that didn't receive an offer to get more information about preferences and alternate entry pathways such as Newstep, Open Foundation and Yapug.
If you are interested in mid-year entry, there is also a Mid-year Info Session in late May/early June.
Campus walking tours
Our general campus walking tours are held throughout the year and are designed to give future students, both high school and non-school leavers, a taste of what studying at the University is really like. These tours are led by our Student Ambassadors (a current University student) and visit lecture theaters, the library, Student Hubs, plus a range of other campus facilities.
Career Expos
We attend a range of career expos to provide future students an opportunity to speak face-to-face with our staff. Check out our key dates for which expos will be attending this year.

Schools Visit Days
Our Schools Visit Day is held in June for Newcastle and November for the Central Coast. Schools Visit Day is an opportunity for students to get a taste for uni life and experience the degrees on offer at the University. Academics and current students run presentations and campus tours throughout the day to give students all the information they need to choose the right degree. Attendance at these days are usually organised by career advisers and teachers.
Year 10 campus tours
Our year 10 campus tours are held throughout the year and give students a taste of what studying at the University is really like. The tours are led by our Student Ambassadors (a current University student) and visit lecture theaters, the library, Student Hubs, plus a range of other campus facilities. These tours are usually organised for a group of students by career advisers and teachers.

Career Advisers Workshop
The Career Advisers Workshop runs concurrently with the Schools Visit Days. Here career advisers hear presentations from faculty members, academics and representatives from across the University. The day provides an excellent opportunity for strengthening relationships between the University and our feeder schools.
