Scholars' Week

What is Scholars' Week?

In 2012 the University of Newcastle is joining with our generous supporters to celebrate outstanding student achievements. Each of the University's faculties will hold a series of ceremonies to award scholarships to their deserving recipients.

Scholarships recognise excellence in academic, research, artistic or athletic fields. They also provide financial aid for students who otherwise may have missed out on an opportunity to attend University. Scholarships provide support, confidence and encouragement, keeping students motivated and helping them to focus on their goals.

Why do we need more Scholarships?

We hope that through successful fundraising we will increase both the number of high achieving students and the support we can provide for them. The more diverse and talented students we can attract, the better the potential for learning and research. This will also lead to greater success of our graduates and therefore increased benefit to our community and our world. Help us to help our future students achieve by donating a scholarship.

As a donor to a scholarship, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the selection process of recipients, will have naming rights, and you will be informed about the student's progress throughout the course of the scholarship.
