Salim Momtaz has fourth book published

Senior Lecturer, Salim Momtaz, has recently had his fourth book published. Evaluating Environmental and Social Impact Assessment in Developing Countries looks at the effectiveness of environmental and social impact assessment (EIA) systems in developing countries.

The book is a joint venture with Salim’s former PhD student, Zobaldul Kabir and they utilised a new comprehensive approach that they developed and tested using Bangladesh as a case study.

Their holistic approach examines all aspects of the EIA procedure, including legislative and administrative status; implementation and conduct of public participation; the quality of environmental impact statements and the follow up.

“Every book brings special satisfaction,” said Salim. “This book is particularly satisfying as this is the culmination of my work on environmental and social impact assessment. Being able to publish with Elsevier also gives me a sense of pride,” he added.

Students studying environmental planning, science and management or social sciences would find this book particularly useful, along with academics teaching in these fields, practitioners and international development partners.

The book can be purchased online from Amazon and Elsevier.
