Future in science bright for Armidale students
Two Year 11 students from the Presbyterian Ladies’ College Armidale received the University of Newcastle Faculty of Science and Information Technology Excellence Award 2012.
Annabel Paul and Hannah-Lee Hourigan spoke about the importance of science and IT during PLC Armidale’s Speech Day last year.
“This award has allowed me to realise that science is something that is recognised in the wider community and that the study of it, alongside information technology, is certainly worthwhile,” said Annabel.
Hannah-Lee was also motivated by receiving the award and looks forward to studying a science-based course at university after school.
Both hope to pursue a career in science and this award recognises the strong potential for their futures.
