TFI secures investment grant
The Tom Farrell Institute (TFI) is part of a successful 2013-2014 Investment grant worth $1.66 million.
The submission was a collaborative effort between Wetland Care and TFI and will be used to fund the Riparian-Ramsar Connections project.
"We have been talking with Newcastle City Council about this for several years and we saw the opportunity to get funding for it and were lucky enough to find collaborators who could combine to make it work," said Director, Professor Tim Roberts.
The grant will be used towards rehabilitating the catchment of Boatmans Creek which runs along the back of the University near the railway line.
"We are all delighted to have gained this support. We believe in our hearts that such a project will yield a significant outcome for the Bushland Campus and will yield a range of scientific papers as well as provide significant work experience for undergraduate students," said Professor Roberts.
