Guidelines
The Bachelor of Science program offers great flexibility and variety in the choice of Majors and Courses. Even in degree programs without Majors all this choice can sometimes be confusing.
The Suggested PATHWAYS in this site are designed to help you choose Majors and Courses in areas that match your interests and career aspirations. Each pathway links to careers and employer information on this site.
When looking at these pathways, please be aware of the following:
-
These pathways are only suggestions, to be used as guides. Obviously we cannot guarantee that any pathway leads to a particular career or job.
-
There are many more combinations of Courses available than shown in these pathways. For example, you could design your own Double Major, take different Elective courses, and so on.
-
The combinations of Courses shown in these pathways may sometimes not be practical, for reasons such as timetabling or workload from year to year.
-
The Program Handbook entry for each program is the official document listing all the rules you need to meet, and also lists all the other Courses available in the program.
-
Program Enrolment Checklists are available to help you track your progress and ensure that you are meeting the program requirements. Following your checklist may save you a lot of time and grief later!
-
For further information on the rules and requirements for your degree program, see the Program Officers in the Shortland or Ourimbah Hub.
-
For further information on the content or choice of Courses, see the Discipline Advisor for the particular discipline offering that Major.
-
For further advice on careers and seeking employment, see the Careers Service.
