Faculty Governance

Faculty Board

The governing body of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology is the Faculty Board. The Board comprises the following membership:

  • Vice Chancellor
  • Pro Vice-Chancellor
  • Faculty Deputy Head
  • Faculty Heads of Schools
  • Faculty Assistant Deans
  • Assistant Registrar
  • Faculty Executive Officer
  • Three academic staff members from each Faculty School
  • No less than three students, one of whom shall be a research postgraduate student; one of whom shall be a coursework postgraduate student; and one of whom shall be an undergraduate student
  • Such number of persons from categories of persons from within or external to the University as may be recommended by the Faculty Board, and approved by the Academic Senate

Staff access to agendas, minutes and papers associated with Faculty Board are provided via the BlackBoard site: "FSCIT STAFF".

The "Rules Governing Faculties - Rule 000305" in the Policy Library provides information about the composition and functions of the Faculty Board.
