Study Abroad Students

Study Abroad is designed for students enrolled at an overseas university. The subjects that you study at the University of Newcastle can be credited towards your degree if they have been approved by your home institution.

Singapore Students

The Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment offers a number of Undergraduate Engineering degrees with PSB in Singapore. The Faculty has a long standing relationship with Singapore and its people and many of our alumni now hold prominent positions in Singapore and throughout the world.

Events

At the beginning of each semester we hold an orientation session to welcome new students and introduce them to key staff members from the Faculty. This is followed by a dinner for all international students, hosted by the Faculty's Pro Vice-Chancellor. These activities offer opportunities for new international students to meet each other and staff of the Faculty.

In addition to our Faculty events, the University offers a number of support programs and social activities involving both Australian and International students. For further information please contact International Student Support.

International Student Mentors

The Faculty is divided into three Schools, with each School being responsible for the teaching of specific undergraduate programs, and for related postgraduate supervision and research.

Within each School there is an International Student Mentor who is a member of the academic staff. The role of the mentor is to provide academic support to international students and to help them with matters related to academic progress.

There is also an Assistant Dean (International), A/Prof. Edward Szczerbicki who oversees the support of international students within the Faculty.

Administrative Support

A number of administrative staff are located within student services and within each School office. Student Services will be able to assist international students with matters relating to admission and enrolment, whilst School office staff will be able to assist with information relating to individual courses.
