Engineering can be a wonderful career and many women’s support and professional organisations exist among engineers. These include the Engineers Australia’s Women in Engineering Group, and the APESMA Professional Women's Network (APESMA - the Association for Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia).
On Campus Support
The Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment supports its female students and hosts a range of fun activities assisting the establishment of support networks and communicating opportunities of engineering as a course of study and career option.
The FEBE WIE activities include online networking, seminars with female graduates and site visits.
Women in Engineering High Tea
On 16 March 2012 current female students and high school students from the region were invited to listen to some of our female graduates speak about their experiences as women in the industry.
Mining engineer Kara Newbury, structural engineer Karlie Collis, and architect Josephine Vaughan shared their unique perspective and offered their top tips for female students entering the industry.
