Teaching and Learning
- AQF Compliance and Mapping - The Faculty Board has reviewed and endorsed the AQF mapping for the following programs, which will now be forwarded to the Program and Course Approval Committee:
- Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music (Honours)
- Bachelor of Fine Art and Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours)
- Bachelor of Aboriginal Professional Practice and Bachelor of Aboriginal Studies (Honours)
- Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts (Honours)
- Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Social Science (Honours)
- Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Art Admission proposal - The Faculty Board endorsed the proposal to implement the requirement of a portfolio and ATAR entry into the Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Art.
Research
- SPIN Database Workshop at Ourimbah on Thursday 17th October to help researchers identify potential funding sources.
- Finish that Paper 2-day writing retreat coming up on 31st October and 1st November at Ourimbah.
- Faculty Research Forum on 1st November from 10am to 12.30pm.
- Professor Lyndall Ryan is giving a talk on the ARC funding with reference to the Humanities and Creative Arts Panel on Thursday 7 November.
- The 2014 FEDUA Visiting Research Fellowships scheme is now open and applications close on Monday 30th September. The guidelines and application form can be accessed via the University website
- The ECR Fellowship Scheme has been approved by the Faculty Executive. Up to 2 ECR Fellowships will be offered for 2014. $15,000 will be provided to allow the ECR to buy out teaching and concentrate on research for one semester. The scheme will open soon.
- Mapping of Research Engagement with partners from the Hunter, Mid North and Central Coasts - Kristy Atkins is currently compiling details of research engagement activity in FEDUA which will ultimately lead to a publication. Please contact Kristy.Atkins@newcastle.edu.au
Service and Admin
- NeW Directions Engagement Working Party - Professor John Germov (Pro Vice-Chancellor) & Mr Michael Robertson (Associate Director, Faculty Services), have been nominated as members of the recently established NeW Directions Engagement Working Party. The Working Party will shape the implementation of the Corporate Planning Cycle to ensure consistency across the University, and will monitor and evaluate progress against key milestones.
