Recent Awards

• Emeritus Professor Phil Foreman from the School of Education became a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day honours list "For significant service to tertiary education, particularly in the area of special education, and to people with a disability".
• Congratulations to historian Dr Lisa Featherstone from the School of Humanities and Social Science who has been awarded the 2013 Honorary Nancy Keesing Fellowship at the State Library of NSW for her work on late twentieth century sexuality.
• Congratulations to Associate Professor Ian Dempsey from the School of Education who has received $28,000 from the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation to help fund the development of a book of the full 700 word Key Word Sign Australia vocabulary.
