Faculty Plans Now Available

The three year Faculty Action Plans and the Faculty Corporate Plan 2013 are available on the Faculty Governance Blackboard site. The Faculty Corporate Plan and related Action Plans are aligned with the NeW Directions Strategic Plan 2013-15 and will drive the strategic work of our Faculty Committees, all of which have revised Terms of Reference and reporting requirements.

Schools to Create Corporate Plans

Each school will soon be putting together their own Corporate Plan. This is your chance to contribute to the planning of your school's activities for the rest of the year. Look out for more information from your Head of School.

Applications for MCR Fellowships Scheme Open

Applications for the MCR Fellowships Scheme will be considered for Semester 2 this year, and for Semester 1 & 2 in 2014. We intend to offer at least two MCR Fellowships each year, with one awarded on the basis of gender equity.

Things to know about the MCR Fellowships Scheme:

It's funded wholly by the Faculty.
It's a key part of the Faculty Corporate Plan 2013 and our FEDUA Research and Innovation Action Plan 2013-2015.
The aim is to increase the research capacity of the Faculty.
It is also central to our FEDUA Gender Equity Action Plan 2012-2015, which designates at least one fellowship per year will be awarded to a female academic in recognition of the challenges that women experience in the tertiary sector.

Faculty Support for PhD Staff

A further outcome of our Faculty Corporate Plan 2013 is the introduction of a research funding bonus for staff who have successfully completed a PhD, to facilitate publications arising from their PhD.

For 2013, this funding bonus has been set at $2000.
Payment to the staff member will be made upon presentation of evidence of the award of the degree.
