Welcome to the Faculty of Education and Arts at the University of Newcastle. Our University is located on the east coast of New South Wales in Australia, some 150km north of Sydney. Newcastle is the second largest city in New South Wales.
We offer a comprehensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs that provide innovative and leading edge education to the students of the world. Our Schools are highly respected for their learning methods, which are designed to enhance literacy and ensure high level graduate skills.
The right degree program for you
The Faculty provides a range of awards and degree programs in both professional education and liberal study. In the professional area, the Faculty incorporates one of the country's largest and most comprehensive teacher education programs, and training in such diverse areas as Social Work, Speech Pathology, Music, Drama, Fine Art and Film and Television Studies. Among the Liberal Studies are those in Aboriginal Studies, History, Classics, Philosophy, English, Linguistics, Modern Languages, Sociology, Theology, Anthropology and Cultural Studies.
At the undergraduate level, we offer seven double degrees in Teacher Education, Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Science, Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Bachelor of Theology and a Bachelor of Aboriginal Studies. At the postgraduate level, we offer a Diploma in Education, together with a range of graduate certificate and Masters awards, and PhD programs in all relevant disciplines.
