What resources will be available to me?
The Faculty is committed to providing Research Higher Degree (RHD) candidates with a quality research training experience. This includes the provision of appropriate resources to undertake your research, such as computer hardware and software, access to databases and office space as well as quality supervision, student training and student support.
Students who are enrolled fulltime in a RHD program will be provided with a dedicated workstation within their School at which to undertake their research training while students who are enrolled part time will have access to a shared workstation. In addition, the School will provide a chair, lockable pedestal drawers and a bookshelf unit in a shared space dedicated to research higher degree students. Upon enrolment in an RHD program at the University you will also be entitled to receive a laptop computer, which is provided under the university 'RHD Laptop Scheme'. Further information about the scheme can be found here. Candidates may also apply for up to $6,000, under the Postgraduate Research Support Scheme (PGRSS), for various research expenses such as conference travel, workshops, equipment and consumables.
Are there RHD scholarships?
Full-time candidates who have an excellent academic record may also apply for University scholarships, awarded on the basis of academic merit including undergraduate grade point average and additional research attainments.
A full list of scholarships can be found here.
For candidates who do not qualify for immediate entry into the PhD program, one year scholarships are also available to study for the Honours program.
