Academic Progress
If you are experiencing difficulty with your studies, you are strongly advised to consider the following options which are available to you:
- Reduce your study load.
Note: if you are an international student studying in Australia you should contact the International Student Advisors at international-advisors@newcastle.edu.au before reducing your enrolment to ensure you are not breaking any student visa rules. - Check to see whether any of the services offered by the University's Learning Support Program might assist you in your studies.
- Contact the University's Student Support Services if you have experienced problems of a personal nature.
If you require assistance with planning your program, with time management or any further guidance, please contact your Program Officer or your Program Convenor for your degree by telephoning Student Services on 4921 5000 or 4348 4086 who will direct you to the appropriate person.
As the Faculty is committed to encouraging and supporting its students in achieving success in their programs of study, we hope you will take advantage of any assistance that is available to you.
At the end of each semester the Faculty undertakes a review of student progress and, if your academic progress is not considered satisfactory for continued success in your studies, you will be notified directly of the options available to you.
