The Co-Creation in Service Symposium is initiated by the Newcastle Business School and the Faculty of Business and Law.

Venue: Peppers Convent, Hunter Valley, NSW

Date: Wednesday 8th May to Friday 10th May 2013

The Co-Creation in Service (CCIS) 2013 is an invitation only Symposium initiated by the Newcastle Business School. The aims of CCIS are to initiate dialogue and share experience in areas related to co-creation, focusing on three broad research questions:

  1. How to define co-creation/Various ways of approaching an understanding of value creation
  2. Means of co-creation/Creating models of the co-creation process
  3. Value-in-use, value-in-context, value-in-experience, value-in-interactions as outcomes of co-creation

We are very inspired about the topic, Co-creation in Service, which interests academic scholars from different disciplines including us, in Marketing. We see an opportunity for Marketing as a discipline to share our insights and enhance knowledge for academic communities in other disciplines. With this opportunity in mind, we are initiating an activity through which marketing scholars may influence this progressive research domain.

We will also get together to celebrate our Symposium facilitator Prof. Christian Grönroos' achievements as a "Legend in Marketing" - the first outside North America. He is known as a pioneer in service and relationship marketing research and has continuously contributed to advance marketing theory.

To maximise engagement and enhance participants' experience, the Symposium will be held in, and has the exclusive use of, Peppers Convent in the Hunter Valley for the entire workshop.
