Biographies

Frank Clarke

Frank Clarke (PhD, BEc (Syd.); ACIS, FCPA) is Emeritus Professor at the University of Newcastle and an Honorary Professor of Accounting at The University of Sydney. His publications include the following books:

  • (with Graeme Dean, Univesity of Sydney) Indecent Disclosure: Gilding the Corporate Lily (Cambridge University Press, 2007) extends the corporate failure theme of his earlier books (below) and addresses companies’ misleading financial reporting and governance dissonance.
  • Corporate Collapse: Regulatory, Accounting and Ethical Failure (with Kyle Oliver, CUP, 1997, 2003, Chinese imprint 2005).
  • The Tangled Web of Price Variation Accounting (Garland, 1982),re-published in 2007 by Sydney University Press as part of its Sydney Accounting Classics series.

Ross Jones

Ross Jones was appointed Deputy Chairman and Member of APRA for a five-year term commencing 1 July 2003 and was recently reappointed for another five-year term, commencing 1 July 2008. Within APRA he takes principal responsibility for superannuation/private pensions and chairs APRA's Enforcement Committee.

He is President of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors, a group whose members include pension supervisors and regulators from more than 70 countries. He is also Vice Chairman of the OECD Working Party on Private Pensions and a member of the Singapore Central Provident Fund Advisory Panel. Prior to joining APRA, Ross was a Commissioner of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and a former Chairman of the International Air Services Commission. He was also an Associate Professor in the School of Finance and Economics at the University of Technology, Sydney for a number of years.
