Dr Lisa Barnes
DBA (Newcastle), MBA (Newcastle), CPA (Monash), B.Ec. (Sydney), FTIA
Lisa Barnes has fifteen years experience in professional public accounting practice in Australia. She has developed, taught and co-ordinated a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses including: Accounting and Management, Company Accounting, Financial and Management Accounting, Auditing, Taxation Law in Australia and Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility.
Lisa has taught face to face, online and overseas in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia (FTIA).
Lisa has a great deal of experience in training and facilitation and has presented a number of courses for local business.
Dr Kym Cowley
PhD (Newcastle) , BBus Hons 1 (Newcastle) FAMS, CPM
Dr Kym Cowley is a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Newcastle in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, teaching face to face and online. She has recently completed her PhD in an area of marketing management concerned with sensemaking systems in organisations.
Kym has previously worked with organisations such as Ampcontrol, Main Roads Western Australia and NSW Department of Sport and Recreation.
Dr Andrew Dempster
B. Acctg (Victoria College), PhD (Monash), B.Sc Hons (Monash)
Andrew has been a Lecturer at the Newcastle Graduate School of Business since 2005. He conducts face-to-face and online courses in Accounting and Financial Management, Project Management, Operations & Supply Chain Management, Strategic Management and Investments.
Andrew graduated from Monash University with an honours degree and a Ph.D. in experimental physics. Later, he obtained his degree in Accounting.
During the last 30 years, he has run his own consultancy, spent six years with Boston Consulting Group and performed key management roles in a number of organisations, including General Motors-Holden, Laminex Industries, Marathon Tyres and BF Goodrich.
Mr Tony Drew
MBA Merit (Newcastle), G.Cert Bus. Admin (Newcastle), Advanced Dip. (Hospitality) Management (CMDA), Cert. IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (Strategic Training Solutions, Newcastle), CAHRI, AFAIM, MAICD.
Since 2003, Tony has lectured in Human Resource Management, International Human Resource Management, Management and Organisational Behaviour, International Business Environment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Marketing and Strategy, in Newcastle, Ourimbah, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
Tony has 21 years of hands on management experience with a strong background in hospitality and tourism. As a consultant he has worked with businesses to develop significant growth strategies.
Tony has a strong interest in International Business and is presently completing his PhD, investigating cultural issues in International Business.
Mr John Dugas
M Ed Studies (Newcastle), Cert A/V Media (Middlesex, London), Dip Ed (Newcastle), BA (Newcastle).
John is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Newcastle in Leadership and Teamwork, Strategic Management, Management and Organisational Behaviour and International Human Resources Management.
Over the last two decades John has delivered numerous leadership and management development sessions to a wide range of organisations including the military, NSW Police, financial and healthcare institutions, boards of management and company directors. John lectures regularly in Singapore and has facilitated sessions in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam as well as Sydney, Australia.
Dr John Lewer
PhD (Newcastle), Grad Dip Ed (STC), M.Com (UNSW), B.Com (UNSW)
John Lewer is a member of the Organisational Studies and Employment Relations Group within the Faculty of Business and Law, at the University of Newcastle. He holds a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Commerce from the University of New South Wales and graduated with a Diploma of Education from the Sydney Teachers’ College. His doctoral thesis investigated the workforce’s remarkable performance during the closure of BHP’s Newcastle steelworks.
John teaches undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs and since 2005 has co-ordinated the negotiation and advocacy course. He has consulted to many organisations, particularly in human resources development, enterprise bargaining and organsiational change.
Dr Johanna Macneil
PhD (Melboune), MBA (Melbourne) Grad. Dip Ed. Psych (Monash), BA (Melbourne)
Johanna Macneil specialises in change management, sustainable high performance work practices and strategic planning. In 2005, she completed her PhD at The University of Melbourne, entitled "Sustainability of high performance work practices in Australian Organisations".
For six years until the end of 2006, Johanna worked with Schneider Consulting, specialising in workplace change, work redesign and strategic planning. In this position she undertook projects for some of Australia’s largest organisations including Australia Post, Coles Myer and Telstra.
In the mid 1990's Johanna was Executive Director of the Centre for Change Management at Deakin University. Through her work Johanna has become a highly experienced and engaging workplace educator and facilitator.
Dr Rebecca Mitchell
PhD (Sydney), MBA Hons 1 (Dublin), BA Psych (Tasmania)
Rebecca has lectured in Organizational Behaviour, Change Management, Organisational Development, Strategy and Contemporary Management, in Spain, Ireland, Australia and Singapore. In 2006, she completed her PhD which investigated the creation of knowledge in organisations and its link to organizational learning and performance.
Since 1996, Rebecca has consulted to a variety of organisations in customer retention, business continuity/succession planning and supervisory management training.
