The Faculty of Science and Information Technology at the University of Newcastle is keen to encourage academic excellence in high school students. The Faculty provides an Excellence Award that recognises outstanding achievement by a Year 11 student in one of the following fields Communication, Design, Mathematics, Science or Information Technology which are key links to our teaching and research.

The Award includes a Certificate and $50 Gift Voucher, which can be redeemed at the United Campus Bookshop located at the Newcastle University Campus (purchases can be made on-line). In 2006, we awarded 112 prizes to Year 11 students from 242 High Schools.

 

If your school would like to participate then please complete and return the Nomination Form by FAX or mail by October 19, 2007 to:

We understand that the Year 11 student may not be selected until later in the year. If this is the case, then return the form without the student name. We use the returned forms to organise the Awards and University staff presenters, if requested.
