The Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment is one of the leading faculties of its kind in Australia. It is internationally recognised for its outstanding research record which places its engineering schools among the best in Australia.

A research intensive environment has helped to attract a high calibre of academic research staff from throughout Australia and around the world. Many of them are at the forefront of their fields carrying out internationally recognised work in pure and applied research which invariably attracts high levels of funding.

Through collaborative research, the faculty has forged many strong partnerships with industry and professionals.

We view our interactions with industry as bringing real-world technology issues into our research laboratories and our teaching, and integral to maintaining a ‘forward-looking’ approach in our education of students.

The Faculty is committed to building long term relationships that mutually benefit both parties, and is focused on expanding these relationships with industry for the future to research and develop new technologies and to discover innovative solutions to existing problems that face society today.
