Professional Experience Unit

School of Education

The School of Education is actively involved in making sure their students have the best professional experience program to prepare them for the work place.

Location

Callaghan Campus

The Professional Experience Unit is located in room HA80 in the Hunter Building.

Material which needs to be submitted should be placed in the Professional Experience mail box (No. 33) which is located in room HA92 in the Hunter Building.

A Professional Experience notice board is located in the corridor near HA80. Please check the notice board and web site regularly.

Ourimbah Campus

Material which needs to be submitted should be to the postal box outside room HO1.28 which is located in the Humanties Building. The PEU at Ourimbah is open most days between 9am and 4pm for walk-in appointments.

LINKS Program

The LINKS Program, or "LINKS", is a mentoring and work experience program managed by the PEU at the Ourimbah Campus. In LINKS, students are allocated to a school or centre by the second semester of their initial year of study to complete 10 reciprocal hours work per semester plus additional hours required for course based assignments. The mentoring continues for the length of the student's degree. All enquiries to ourimbah-links@newcastle.edu.au, or to the PEU in room HO1.28 in the Humanities Building.
