Behavioural issues across the movement spectrum: From sitting to lifting to ‘HITting’!

Using his current research and international expertise, Professor Stuart Biddle will cover the current ‘issues’ related to physical activity behavioural science. Issues include:
- How important is too much sitting for poor health and how can we get behavioural change?
- Who does muscle strengthening exercise and how can we promote it better?
- Behavioural and public health issues concerning high intensity exercise.
Stuart Biddle is Professor of Active Living & Public Health in the Institute of Sport, Exercise & Active Living (ISEAL) at Victoria University in Melbourne. He moved to Australia from the UK in 2014 where he was Professor and former Head of the School of Sport & Exercise Sciences at Loughborough University. He is a highly cited author in physical activity and sedentary behaviour (Scopus h-index=53), lead author of the textbook ‘Psychology of Physical Activity’ (3rd edition), and a past-President of the International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA).
