Understanding the evidence we generate on physical activity - is it ever likely to impact population health?

The PRC is pleased to host a presentation by Adrian Bauman, Sesquicentenary Professor and Director, Prevention Research Collaboration (PRC), School of Public Health, University of Sydney. He will be giving a research presentation titled, Understanding the evidence we generate on physical activity - is it ever likely to impact population health?

The presentation will be held in ATC210 on 1 October 2013 from 12pm-1:30pm.  A light lunch will be catered from 1pm onwards.

Bio

Adrian Bauman is Sesquicentenary Professor and Director, Prevention Research Collaboration (PRC), School of Public Health, University of Sydney, Australia.

Adrian Bauman is an epidemiologist, and public health physician at Sydney University.  He directs a public health research group (PRC), teaches in public health programs, and leads the faculty-wide theme area on "physical activity and exercise" for the Sydney University Charles Perkins Centre. He is Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity.  He has had research interests in chronic disease prevention for over 20 years, with a particular focus on physical activity epidemiology, measurement, policy and more generally has interests in public health research methods and in translation and dissemination research.  He is well published in the peer reviewed literature and has obtained several research grants in the areas of physical activity promotion and obesity prevention.
