Dr. Julie McIntyre is an historian who uses the lens of wine studies to explore questions ranging from colonial ambition within global currents of history to fashion for wine styles. Her book First Vintage: Wine in Colonial New South Wales (2012) won Gourmand Publishing’s 2013 Best Australian Drinks History and was shortlisted for three further prizes including the 2013 NSW Premier’s History Awards.
