LIEF Information Session
The FEDUA Research Unit will be holding an information session on the ARC Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) scheme. Find out how it can benefit research in the Creative Arts, Education and Humanities and Social Sciences.
The LIEF scheme provides funding for large-scale cooperative initiatives so that infrastructure, equipment and facilities can be shared between higher education organisation and also with industry. The scheme provides minimum funding of $150,000 per year and maximum funding of up to 75 per cent of the total direct costs of the research infrastructure.
LIEF funding has been increasingly awarded to collaborative proposals in relevant disciplines led by other institutions. Seven grants were awarded in the last three rounds to projects in the Social Science, Historical Studies, Language Studies, Performing Arts & Creative Writing and Art Theory & Criticism.
The objectives of the scheme are:
- Encourage eligible organisations to develop collaborative arrangements with other eligible organisations, higher education institutes and/or their partner organisations to develop and support research infrastructure
- Support large-scale national or international cooperative initiatives thereby allowing expensive research infrastructure to be shared and / or accessed
- Support areas of existing and / or emerging research strength
- Support and develop research infrastructure for the broader research community
Invited speakers:
- Professor Lyndall Ryan (ARC College of Experts)
- Professor Victoria Haskins (CI on a LIEF via Victoria University submitted in last round)
- Judy Alexander, Associate Director Research Development & Innovation, Research Services
Please RSVP to Kristy Adkins, Research Development Officer by Monday 6 June, 2016.
