The Centre for 21st Century Humanities and the Global Newcastle Network present:

The Crime and Punishment Walk

Led by University of Newcastle historians and special guests, this free, 2 hour walking tour will showcase aspects of Newcastle's past, focusing on the themes, 'Crime and Punishment.'

Come along to take a fresh look at familiar places and hear intriguing stories about notorious characters and events.

Stroll from the new Newcastle Courthouse at Civic to the old courthouse on Church Street, stopping at sites of crime and punishment along the way. Hear stories of Novocastrian villains, ordinary people who crossed the line and the officers of the law who brought them to justice. At the end of the walk, participants are invited to share a cool drink or lunch in a local café (at own expense).

The walk is suitable for those aged 15 years and over who are reasonably fit and capable of walking unassisted for two (2) kilometres and standing for periods of time.

There is a strictly limited capacity of 25 participants and therefore bookings are essential and a maximum of two places can be booked per person.

Please note that this is a pilot walk and we plan to conduct this walk again in 2017.
