Faculty of Business and Law Third Annual DIVA Dinner

This event was held on Thursday 9 July 2015

Join your fellow local business leaders at The Faculty of Business and Law's Distinguished International Visiting Academic (DIVA) Dinner. This year we welcome Professor Timothy Devinney, the University of Leeds Leadership Chair in International Business.

His talk, titled China's Next Stage: Development Challenges and their Implications for the World, will focus on the potential dilemmas that China may encounter as its development agenda progresses.

While some view China as a juggernaut that will soon eclipse the U.S., similar logic has been applied previously with respect to the Soviet Union and Japan, with limited fruition. Professor Devinney's talk will discuss potential structural reasons, which imply China's growth is limited.

Outcomes of decisions facing the Chinese Government will reveal trade-offs between the value of economic, social and political change, and implications for economic stability and the balance of power globally.

Please join us for interesting discussion over dinner and take this opportunity to meet Professor Timothy Devinney.
