The Smartest Places on Earth Public Lecture

Mr Antoine van Agtmael and Mr Alfred Bakker, renowned innovation experts and authors of the book The Smartest Places on Earth: Why Rustbelts are Emerging Hotspots of Global Innovation, will be speaking at this special event.  

Mr van Agtmael and Mr Bakker have led a global conversation about the revitalisation of post-industrial cities or ‘rustbelts’ as emerging sources of innovation and economic strength. Antoine van Agtmael is senior adviser at Garten Rothkopf, a public policy advisory firm in Washington, DC and was the principal founder, CEO, and CIO of Emerging Markets Management LLC.

Alfred Bakker, until his recent retirement, was a journalist specialising in monetary and financial affairs with Het Financieele Dagblad, the “Financial Times of Holland.”
