Professor Anthony Hogan

University of Canberra

Professor Anthony Hogan is Chair of Regional Governance and Policy in the ANZSOG Institute for Governance at the University of Canberra and was formerly the Director of the National Institute for Rural & Regional Australia at the ANU. His main research interests are in the economic sociology, and in turn, subsequent governance of rural Australia, particularly country towns. His most recent projects have included developing a methodology for use by rural communities to assist them in planning sustainable futures, a study of farmer suicide and a study on how farmers are adapting to drought and climate change in Australia. He is currently examining how social and economic policy impacts on the viability of settlements in country Australia.
