Professor John DeFrain, leading researcher on International Family Strengths from The University of Nebraska USA, talks with Judi Geggie, former Director of the Family Action Centre.
John DeFrain, is a Cooperative Extension Specialist in Family and Community Development. After receiving his doctorate in Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison USA, he co-directed a joint graduate training program in family therapy in Nebraska and has done extensive consulting for courts and families on marriage, divorce, and custody issues.
He was co-founder of a National Symposium on Building Family Strengths which for ten years focused attention on nation-wide efforts to enhance family relationships. De Frain also co-ordinated the International Building Family Strengths Network organising family strengths conferences and research projects around the world.
