Wyong PS 125th anniversary

Wyong school celebrates 125th anniversary

A fireworks display, community fair, student reunion and special commemorative assembly will be some of the highlights of the 125th anniversary celebrations for Wyong Public School.

A formal school assembly will be held in the hall of the school in Cutler Drive, Wyong, with Member for Wyong, Darren Webber, presenting the school leaders of Wyong Public, Wyong Grove and Wyong High School, with a commemorative medallion to mark the school’s milestone. All other students from Wyong Public and Wyong Grove schools will receive a commemorative medallion during the anniversary celebrations.

The anniversary celebrations continue from 4pm on August 2 2013, with the stalls and activities of the Wyong Public School P&C Fair. Students will participate in displays and demonstrations and every child who attends will receive a gift bag on arrival.

A reptile show and a fireworks display, sponsored by Bendigo Bank, will finish up the night, with the display expected to begin at 6.30pm.

Students and teachers past and present will come together for a lunch and tour of their school on Saturday 3 August, and the celebrations will continue in the evening with a reunion event organised to be held at the Wyong Golf Club from 7pm. Tickets for the reunion cost $10 and are available from the school office or will be sold at the fair.
