ABC Open (New England North West) is featuring a story about a beaut activity - the Teddy Bear Hospital - that engages student doctors from the University of Newcastle and the University of New England  in our rural communities while providing valuable skills training for them.

Student doctor, Cale Lawlor from UNE, has also written an entertaining and informative blog that is accompanied by a time-lapse video of the clinic created by ABC Open New England North West producer, Tim Lehā.

Cale says, “It is the hope of those involved in the teddy bear hospitals in the smaller communities around Tamworth, that meeting and seeing us future doctors in a safe context under the pretence of treating the outcomes of their teddy’s adventures, it will hopefully take away from some of the fear that comes with medical illness and hospital visits.”
