
Paralympic Talent Search
The Australian Paralympic Committee (APC)with be conducting a talent search during the 2013 Possable Ideas Expo at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on 3 and 4 May.
The Paralympic Talent Search Program is open to people with disabilities that enable them to participate in events currently on the Paralympic Games schedule.
This includes but is not limited to amputees, people with cerebral palsy, limb deficiencies, people in wheelchairs, people with a vision impairment and people with an intellectual disability.
The main goal is to identify people who display the athletic potential to one day make it to Paralympic level competition. A secondary goal is to help introduce people with disabilities to regular sport and physical activity.
At the talent search members of the APC will conduct general sports tests and activities in addition to some sport specific tests for sports that are on the Paralympic program.
Interested participants need to register prior to the day, with registration forms available at the APC website.
