OpenIDEO: An Online Community Working Together For Innovative Solutions

OpenIDEO is a community-centred space “where people design better, together for social good. It's an online platform for creative thinkers: the veteran designer and the new guy who just signed on, the critic and the MBA, the active participant and the curious lurker.” You can read more about OpenIDEO here.

How does OpenIDEO work?

“After a challenge is posted at OpenIDEO.com, the three development phases – inspiration, concepting, and evaluation – are put into motion. Community members can contribute in a variety of different ways, from inspirational observations and photos, sketches of ideas, to business models and snippets of code. Sometimes this can be in the form of a comment; other times, it’s building off a previous person’s work.” Read more here.

One of the current OpenIDEO challenges that has relevance for the UoN community is a challenge which is looking to ensure that young people have the skills, information and opportunities to succeed in the world of work.
