Fathers for School Readiness Webinar
Join us for a Webinar on Thursday October 18 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM AEDT.
We now understand that parents don’t just take children to school, they prepare them mentally and physically for classroom learning. The evidence also suggests that the best preparation involves both fathers and mothers. The Fathers for School Readiness project builds on new research demonstrating how father-child interaction impacts on children’s healthy development. The program uses literacy and rough and tumble play activities to engage fathers. It is being field tested in the coalfields area of the Hunter Valley.
In this presentation, Fatherhood Research Network Convener, Dr Richard Fletcher, will describe the evidence base and show video of the program in action. Ways to access the program and materials will be discussed.
