The Wollotuka Institute, as part of the Kunarr Alumni Chapter Guest Speaker Program 2012, is hosting a FREE presentation by Dr Sarah McEwan titled: Aboriginal Health Practitioner: The rewards and challenges.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Newcastle and during her short yet action-packed career has received a number of major accolades including the 2009 National Rural Faculty Rural Registrar of the Year, 2010 Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine Registrar of the Year, and 2011 UON Indigenous Alumni Award.
A Wiradjuri woman, Sarah is currently practicing medicine in the Emergency Department of the Port Headland Hospital, WA. She will speak about her career to date, the opportunities experienced, and challenges faced professionally as an Aboriginal doctor.
This event will be presented at the Ourimbah campus 17 October and Callaghan campus 18 October and includes a 'bush tucker' tasting.
