An Evening of Volunteer Stories
Through the Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program, an Australian Government, AusAID initiative, everyday Australians are making amazing contributions to improving the livelihoods of hundreds of developing communities around the world.
Capturing the traditional art of storytelling, the Volunteer Stories event presented by Australian Volunteers International (AVI) will see local community members , including AVI board member and four-time Paralympian, Kurt Fearnley, take the audience on an inspirational journey through the cultures, global friendships and life experiences they have gained from their overseas volunteer assignments.
Offering first-hand accounts of what it’s like to live and work overseas, Volunteer Stories also provides information about the financial support volunteers receive, the diversity of assignments and how volunteering is for all ages.
Australian Volunteers International (AVI) is an independent not-for-profit organisation, whose work focuses on reducing poverty, providing health and education services, promoting human rights and gender equality, and protecting the environment in a wide range of countries.
Don’t miss an entertaining evening of inspiring stories from around the globe.
