Is a Master of Property for you?

The Master of Property is offered as a postgraduate degree through GradSchool.com.au.

The degree is an initiative of the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle, and has been developed in response to an identified demand for a postgraduate qualification in property.

If you have a relevant undergraduate degree from an approved institution, and a minimum of two years relevant work experience in a property or property related field then this might be the masters degree for you.

You will be eligible for the Graduate Certificate of the program if you have a diploma or certificate, and more than 5 years property industry work experience.

What you'll study

The Master of Property provides a flexible and relevant learning experience that meets the current and anticipated future needs of students, employers, the property industry and the wider community. The degree is aimed at those already working in the property industry, or those working in related sectors who aspire to move into this field. Students entering the degree come from a diverse range of backgrounds and use the knowledge and skills gained in this postgraduate qualification to enhance their career development in a chosen field. The degree is designed to equip students with a wide range of practical skills and specialist knowledge for different property-based careers. The Master of Property (MProp) degree has partial accreditation from the Australian Property Institute (API) and is endorsed for Associate Membership of the API.

The study components serve to facilitate both students' professional and personal growth. Graduates will be equipped with a broad knowledge and understanding of property as an asset class within national and international markets and with the skills necessary to research, analyse and advise on decisions relating to the acquisition, administration, management, disposal, development and financing of property assets.

At the University of Newcastle, we recognize that many of our students are in highly demanding employment. Flexible study options are therefore of vital importance. In response we have tailored this degree for delivery on a part-time basis in online distance learning mode.

Your future

  • Property Manager
  • Facilities Manager

Professional accreditation
