The role of the pharmacist encompasses counselling patients on the best use of medications, providing advice on symptoms, the management of common ailments, preparing and formulating medications and providing health education. Pharmacists are also involved in consultation with doctors and other health care providers to ensure appropriate use and prescribing of medication.
Pharmacy is intended to build on the knowledge base gained from previous undergraduate coursework studies. Applicants with a major in the biomedical sciences can use the program to gain entry into the pharmacy profession.

The integrated program consists of lectures, practicals, tutorials and experiential learning through clinical placements.
