This program is designed to give students the ability to better evaluate existing and potential market opportunities and to develop strategies that achieve organisational outcomes appropriate for the Australian and international business environment. Students will develop a solid understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of marketing and how they are applied in all contexts.

The Graduate Certificate and Master of Marketing have been developed for students with little or no background in the discipline or those wishing to upgrade their existing knowledge in the field. There is no assumed knowledge requirement for these programs.

The duration of the program is two trimesters full-time or four trimesters part-time. The Newcastle Business School runs courses on a trimester system, i.e. three terms per year. The Master of Marketing requires the completion of eight courses (80 units). Students are required to complete the five core courses (50 units) and three courses (30 units) from the Directed Courses.

A Master degree shall be conferred as an Ordinary Degree, except that, in cases where a candidate has achieved a Grade Point Average of 6.0 or above, the degree will be conferred "With Distinction".
