Why study international business at UoN?

The Master of International Business program is designed to meet the needs of two groups - international students who wish to undertake business studies with a specific international focus in order to find employment in global markets, and Australian students who wish to expand their business capabilities and to export products to international markets. The program provides a sound knowledge in the core business areas of marketing, finance, economics and human resource management and expands on this knowledge in the context of international trade, government policy and regulations with regard to global business operations.

Students will study contemporary principles and standards of critical reasoning and management and develop the skills to operate effectively in the international business community, with cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness.

The program duration is two trimesters full-time or four trimesters part-time. The Newcastle Business School runs courses on a trimester system, i.e. three terms per year. Students may commence studies in January, May or September. Please check term dates on the University website at: www.newcastle.edu.au/dates/.

The Master of International Business program requires the completion of 80 units, consisting of eight courses worth 10 units each. Students are required to complete the six Core courses (60 units) and two courses (20 units) from the Directed courses.

Grading of degree

A Master degree shall be conferred as an Ordinary Degree, except that, in cases where a candidate has achieved a Grade Point Average of 6.0 or above, the degree will be conferred "With Distinction".
