For health professionals, our Master of Applied Health and Business Psychology provides further knowledge of applied psychology to enable you to build effective and positive relationships with clients and patients. You’ll gain some experience in a business environment, an insight to community mental health, suicide prevention and skills to potentially enhance your management career in the health sector.

For corporate professionals, our Master of Applied Health and Business Psychology gives you the specialised skills to become a more effective player in the business management field through the understanding of human behaviour. You’ll gain experience in management processes, interviewing and assessing staff, managing difficult people, difficult situations and how to become an influential person within the business world in order to achieve results.

The Master of Applied Health and Business Psychology is an exclusively online degree designed for professionals looking to advance their management skills from a psychological perspective. This degree focuses on people, personalities and relationships for effective business performance within the health and corporate sectors.

The content of this degree focuses on applied psychology with specialised courses for the corporate business and health sectors. Students will gain an understanding of human behaviour and how this can be applied to manage workplace relationships for performance outcomes.

The degree is offered online to provide a flexible and supportive study environment and is also open to students from a non-psychology background. Those who have studied Psychology courses or a Psychology degree may be eligible for advanced standing.

Program requirements and the volume of learning is dependent on the student's prior academic qualifications.

To complete the Master of Applied Health and Business Psychology you will need:

  • Entry with a 3 year bachelor degree (AQF 7) in a discipline other than psychology: Volume of learning is 160 units – 20 units core foundation courses; 60 units of core advanced psychology courses; 80 units directed courses; or
  • Entry with 4 year bachelor degree (AQF 8) in a discipline other than Psychology: Volume of learning is 120 units – 20 units core foundation courses; 60 units of core advanced psychology courses; 40 units directed courses; or
  • Entry with a 3 year bachelor degree (AQF 7) with at least a minor in psychology (40 units of psychology courses): Volume of learning is 120 units, consisting of 60 units of core advanced psychology courses; and 60 units of directed courses; or
  • Entry with a 4 year bachelor degree in psychology (AQF 8), or honours degree in psychology (AQF 8), or a graduate diploma in psychology (AQF 8): Volume of learning is 80 units comprising 60 units of core advanced psychology courses and 20 units of directed courses.

Psychology courses are offered on a semester basis, and most of the directed courses are offered on a trimester basis. Therefore, students will study courses in overlapping study terms. Fast-track your career

The program is designed to enhance the career prospects of persons in range of occupations, and may be particularly appealing to psychology graduates who wish to work in psychology but do not wish to seek formal registration.
