Why study property at UoN?

The Graduate Certificate of Property provides a flexible and relevant learning experience that meets the current and anticipated future needs of students, employers, the property industry and the wider community. The program is aimed at those already working in the property industry, or those working in related sectors who aspire to move into this field. Students entering the program come from a diverse range of backgrounds and use the knowledge and skills gained in this postgraduate qualification to enhance their career development in a chosen field. The program is designed to equip students with a wide range of practical skills and specialist knowledge for different property-based careers.

The study components serve to facilitate both students professional and personal growth. Graduates will be equipped with a broad knowledge and understanding of property as an asset class within national and international markets and with the skills necessary to research, analyse and advise on decisions relating to the acquisition, administration, management, disposal, development and financing of property assets.

At the University of Newcastle, we recognize that many of our students are in highly demanding employment. Flexible study options are therefore of vital importance. In response we have tailored this program for delivery on a part-time basis in online distance learning mode.

Be equipped with valuable and highly transferable skills

The Graduate Certificate of Property is offered as a postgraduate program through GradSchool.com.au.

The program is an initiative of the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle, and has been developed in response to an identified demand for a postgraduate qualification in Property. It is offered for those wishing to complete a shorter program than the Master of Property.

The program provides graduates from building, property, business and finance backgrounds with an international perspective of property portfolio management and property development and develops the relevant specialist skills to operate effectively within property portfolio management, property development and facilities management environments.

The Graduate Certificate of Property is a 40 unit program requiring completion of four courses, from available offerings. Note: Not all courses are offered each trimester.
