Transport Geographer

Transport geography is a specialist field that considers the economic, social, environmental, planning and policy issues surrounding transport systems. Geographers in this field evaluate and plan transport infrastructure, often in collaboration with urban and regional planners.

Employment opportunities in this field are broadened by expertise in related fields and exist in government planning departments at all levels but also in private logistical and environmental consultancies. Post-graduate study, work experience and willingness to travel may be necessary for employment.
