Professionals in this field are expert not only on soil itself but the wider ecosystems and agricultural industries with which it interacts. Laboratory analysis as well as the consultation of mapping and data resources are typical tasks in this field of work where post-graduate specialisation particularly in agricultural industries may be necessary for employment.
