Inventory/Stock Controller

Inventory/stock controllers create and manage systems for the tracking and processing of stock. They may be responsible for forecasting, filling client orders, accounting for and processing inventory and negotiating deals with suppliers and clients in order to receive and despatch stock according to budget and schedule. Professionals in this occupation are also responsible for commissioning and developing software systems which manage their inventory/stock. Qualifications and experience in supply chain management as well as general financial and business management skills are usually essential for this type of role. Employment opportunities exist in a variety of manufacturing industries (such as automotive and industrial products) as well as in consultancies and transport and storage operations management organisations.
