Design Manager

Design managers integrate design into the business planning process of a company, to obtain a competitive advantage. Design managers establish design concepts; design management systems and processes that ensure appropriate quality standards are met within the client's requirement, costs and time constraints.

As with many other technical professions senior designers find their work roles gravitate towards supervision and management.

Design Managers are responsible for managing the design audit on behalf of the client and engaging specialist external consultants to assist in design development

Design managers perform the following tasks;

  • Lead a team of designers
  • Define and build the long term design strategy
  • Process management and development
  • Develop and implement innovative user centred design programs
  • Participate at a senior management level to drive the outcomes of the business
