Dental Prosthetist

The clinical role of these registered healthcare professionals is focused on diagnostic, preventive and fabrication duties to provide a complete removable prosthetic service for the replacement of natural teeth. Dental Prosthetists work independently to assess, design, construct, fit and adjust removable dentures and sports mouthguards service to the public without the referral from a dentist.

 

Qualification as a Dental Prosthetist requires either an Advanced Diploma in Dental Prosthetics from a TAFE Institution, or a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Prosthetics. Dental Prosthetists also require registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency.
