Conservationist / Ecologist

Conservationists use their expert knowledge of ecosystems and their interactions to provide advice and strategies to ensure the longevity of plants, animals and other natural resources. Professionals in this field often undertake studies that combine areas such as biology, geography and botany and face the challenge of designing conservation strategies which co-exist with the resource industry and development.

Conservationists may find work in land management organisations, in environmental protection agencies, lobbying groups and environmental consultancies. This is a field which requires passion and dedication and where work experience is highly regarded when applying for graduate employment.
