Why study business (Honours) at UoN?

With increasing competition for work in the business sector, students who graduate with an Honours degree are highly valued in the employment market. Successful completion of an Honours thesis will demonstrate analytical and empirical skills as well as an ability to undertake independent work and produce clearly written reports. In fact, according to Graduate Careers Australia (GCA, 2006) 'many employers now prefer or even stipulate that candidates have at least an honours degree when they are recruiting.'

Honours is a pathway for many to higher degree research, allowing you to apply for direct entry into the PhD program. You will contribute to developing research at the forefront of your area of interest, within a research centred environment committed to remaining 9th in Australia for publically funded research.

The Newcastle Business School offers ten Honours scholarships of $5,000 per student each year.

Career choices include business management, retail management, advertising and promotions management, human resource management, industrial relations, marketing, small and medium enterprise management, tourism and hospitality management, foreign economic relations, international trade, international marketing and investments, logistics and supply chain management.
